The Sword and Spear is awarded to the most outstanding undergraduate Society member of the past year. A $500 prize will be awarded to the recipients’ chapter in their honor. The 2008 and 2009 winners will be announced at the fall 2009 Society Convention.

The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2008. Supporting materials must be received by July 1, 2008.

Come all ye good Alpha Delts and join us for the Second Initiation of our Society's newest affiliate – the Granite Affiliate at the University of New Hampshire. It seems like only two months ago they were having their first initiation. It was only two months ago!? These Granite siblings move quickly! Here are the details:

We encourage siblings from all of the chapters of ADPS to join us at our semi-annual Initiation ceremony. Formal attire is required. The event begins promptly at 10:00 PM.

The ceremony will be followed by a reception for the membership and the new initiates on the first floor. At 2 AM, the after-after party will begin in the Grotto.

The Literary Competition is one of our largest and most treasured traditions. As rushees, parents, administrators, and the community at large continue to evaluate us against other societies and their general notion of "what a Greek organization is," it is largely our literary tradition which separates and shields us. Of course, in addition to this, the literary tradition is an investment in our own growth, both as individuals and as a group.
