Granite Affiliate Chapter Initiates Founding Pledge Class

It was an exciting weekend at the Middletown Chapter House at 185 High Street in Middletown, Connecticut. Just 16 hours after pledging twenty-three members of the Wesleyan University community, the chapter hosted the first initiation ceremony for the Granite Affiliate Chapter, based at the University of New Hampshire.

The UNH campus paper, "The New Hampshire" has an article about our new affiliate!
Here is a link to the article in the paper.
Affiliate President/Pledge Meredith Lee and Affiliate Pledge Ashley Auger are quoted in the article, as are Brother Pledgemaster Kristen Soule Brn '99 and Expansion Chair Thomas Clark Bdn '99.
The article was not written by one of our pledges, but Pledge Lee is a graphics designer for the paper.

Welcome the Granite Affiliate at the University of New Hampshire

It is my honor to welcome the Granite Affiliate at the University of New Hampshire to the Alpha Delta Phi Society.

The Society has made expansion its top priority, and I am pleased an exceptional group of students has taken this step to affiliate with the Alpha Delta Phi Society.

Michael Roth, MID '78, Inaugurated as Wesleyan University's 16th President

Earlier this month, Michael Roth, Middletown 1978, was inaugurated as Wesleyan's 16th president.

Earlier this year, the Wesleyan Argus published an article about Roth that discussed his undergraduate years, including his term as president of the Middletown Chapter during an important time in the coeducational history of the Alpha Delta Phi Society.

New Policy on Electronic Media Publication

At our recently completed Eighth Convention and Leadership Training Conference, the Convention delegates approved a new Society policy on Electronic Media Publication. The Undergraduate Caucus took the lead in revising the proposed policy, and the policy approved was the one revised by the undergraduate caucus members.

The Alpha Delta Phi Society just completed its Eighth Convention and Leadership Training Conference in Arlington, Virginia. I believe it was a productive and educational weekend, and so I wanted to share some of the highlights with you.

Society members in attendance discussed our organization’s top priorities and the steps we must take to implement our strategies and reach our goals.

Alpha Delta Phi Society members can now join an Alpha Delta Phi Society group on the professional employment networking site LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com).

LinkedIn allows users to manage their professional relationships and network with each other on-line. Society members have requested a professional networking site, and we believe this free service fulfills this need.

Roth's college years marked by book smarts, social leadership

A Society Update, November 2006

In early November, I sent out a letter to the Alpha Delta Phi Society's donor base. The letter provided an update on several items facing the Society -- including expansion and the planned expansion of our regional graduate organization program.
