Donations to the Samuel Eells Literary and Educational Foundation

Submitted by Craig Cheslog on November 20, 2009 - 10:57.

I am excited to announce that you may now make tax-deductible donations to benefit the Society’s educational and charitable programs by making a donation to the Samuel Eells Literary and Educational Foundation (SELEF).

Funds donated to SELEF will be used for educational purposes, like leadership training, literary events, and to support our volunteer and philanthropic commitment to our undergraduate campuses.

In short, if you write your check to SELEF, your donation will be tax deductible. The Society will then request grants from SELEF to support our educational purposes.

The Boards of the Alpha Delta Phi Society and SELEF have worked closely together on this significant new donation policy to ensure it meets all IRS guidelines. It also follows a model many other Greek organizations use for their fund raising appeals.

I know how important tax deductible donations are to many of our members, and I am pleased the Board of Governors was able to work with SELEF to implement this new policy. I believe this is an important step to help us build a strong financial foundation for the Society’s future.

This new program is working well for the Society and our members who want a tax-deductible donation option. I hope you will consider making a donation today.

You can make a donation to SELEF by calling the Society's Headquarters at 847-581-1992. You can also send a check to SELEF by downloading the remit card attached below and sending it to the Alpha Delta Phi Society, 6126 Lincoln Avenue, Morton Grove, IL, 60053. You can also learn more by visiting the SELEF web site. Please be sure to make your check out to SELEF and note it is for the Chamberlain Fund.

If you have any questions about this program, please e-mail me at president (at) adps (dot) org.

Sincerely,

Craig Cheslog, Bowdoin 1993
